Chapter 14 Part 2 : Prom Trouble
*Hyun Jae’s note : Hi guys 😀 please read the updated prologue on how the Tyhia system works, I’ve made some changes and added notes to faciliate your understanding of the story. Happy reading! *
Hyusune drew a short wing upwards and finished doing her eyeliner. She put a makeup sealer to seal everything and prevent her makeup from melting during prom.
She wore a pair of contact lenses, so she wouldn’t need to risk losing her spectacles in the crowd of students that were gathered from the winning teams, as well as a few on-campus students that wanted to spectate the night’s event.
“Quickly, Hyusune! We’re gonna be late!” Cintare called from outside the washroom. “My stomach is rumbling for the prom buffet!”
“I’ll be there soon! You can go first if you want to, I still need to pack my stuff!” Hyusune replied.
When Hyusune got out of the washroom and tidied the room, the mansion was empty. They really did leave without her afterall.
Just then, her phone buzzed. It must be that Jellal again…Hyusune thought.
To her utmost surprise, it was from Shiroyan. “How on earth did Shiroyan get my number?”
She opened the text message, and it read : Hey Hyusune. Could you meet me before the buffet? I’ll be waiting for you at the second level balcony of the central hall where the prom buffet is held, the same place where you met Fran.”
Fran…so Fran gave him my number…Hyusune shrugged and took her phone with her as she left the mansion.
When she reached the second level of the hall, she saw Shiroyan, dressed in a tuxedo and leaning against the pillar, waiting for her.
“That took you long enough…” Shiroyan glared at her.
“I’m sorry. I got caught up with a few things. So, what’s up?”
Shiroyan suddenly began to look less tense.
“S-sorry.” He apolgized meekly.
“Earlier during the games…when we slammed two at one go…that was an illusion.”
“What do you mean?” Hyusune raised a brow.
“Our team created a replica of Zed, which was why he was at two locations and unresponsive when you scored the goal…”
Hyusune’s eyes widened in shock. How could anyone be this despicable in desperate times?
“I’m sorry for what my team did. I’m really, really sorry!” Shiroyan went on his knees.
“That was really despicable of you…stooping so low to win.” Hyusune’s fists clenched as she gave Shiroyan a deathly stare.
Shiroyan hung his head low.
“I-I’ll face the consequences on behalf of my team!” Shiroyan’s voice was shaky as he trembled. Hyusune’s rage aura was strong.
“But…” She pat his head, “it’s all over already. I’m glad you admitted your mistake. ”
“You’re not gonna get me for this?” Shiroyan looked up in shock.
“Nah, chill. I won’t do something like that…but if you ever dare lay a finger on any of my friends, you’re screwed…” Hyusune raised her voice, and squashed a fly that flew past with 2 fingers “…just like this fly.”
Shiroyan gulped. “Ok—”
Shiroyan got back onto his feet and dusted his tuxedo.
“So, did you apologize to Fran’s team?” Hyusune asked before she walked down the stairs.
“Y-yea.” Shiroyan nodded his head.
“Good. Then my job here is done. ” Hyusune walked off to join the others for the prom.
As Hyusune entered the grand hall, the place was already packed with students from all 3 branches, as well as the students who wanted to spectate the event. They ended up joining in as well.
As Hyusune made her way down to the hall, Cintare whispered into her ears.
“They’re all black ops students…the ones spectating the event.”
Hyusune gasped. So many? But why?
Hyusune was slightly disturbed by the fact that all the “spectating students” were wearing the black ops masks. There was so many dangerous ability type in the room, it seemed a little suspicious. But Hyusune didn’t want to make a move, in fear that she would alert them.
Hyusune walked over to Jellal. “Hey, you really do look nice in that…” He commented.
“It’s not a time for that now…” Hyusune said in an urgent whisper. “Follow me.” She held Jellal’s hand and walked to the balcony of the prom hall.
There were lesser people there.
To her utmost surprise, Shiroyan and Fran, the leaders of the other 2 groups were also there.
“You sensed it too, didn’t you?” Fran asked.
“Yep…the spectators…there’s way too many dangerous ability types amongst them.”
“Not just that…the thing is…among the whole group of them, one is emitting a strong dark energy.” Shiroyan said.
“That’s right. It’s not like any of ours could amount to that.” Fran said in an urgent voice.
“Don’t tell me…He’s here…” Jellal said with a hint of fear in his voice.
“Daemon. Daemon Nagasaki.”
“The black wizard is here? But how? He shouldn’t have been able to step through the magical barriers of the compound!” Hyusune raised her voice.
“Shhhh! You’ll alert the others!” Jellal covered her mouth with his hand.
“But that means everyone’s lives are at risk here!”
“Then let’s try to save as many people as possible before it’s too late!”
“We don’t know when our enemy will strike…but we have to make sure we can pull through and foresee his next move before he strikes.”
“Alright. During the prom, please keep a lookout on the spectators. If anything suspicious happens, we shall rely on our telepathic abilities to communicate with one another. ” Shiroyan gave them each a telepathic slab of telepathic pills that would make the members of the each branch have the ability to communicate with the other branch’s pupils should an emergency arise.
Hyusune went back to her group with Jellal discreetly.
“Guys, ” she said in a low tone, “add this to all of your food. It’ll taste better!” She didn’t want to feel them with the details as soon as she came back, because she knew the spectators were keeping a close eye on all the group heads.
“Ehhh? Really? ” Cintare got all excited and dumped the pill inside her soup and finished the soup within seconds. “This is really delicious!”
The rest of them followed suit.
Subsequently, all of them could feel that they could hear voices in their head.
Hyusune tricked them.
They realized that it was not a food additive, but a telepathic pill.
Through telepathy, Fran and Shiroyan explained the whole situation to all the groups.
‘Everyone, keep calm and act normal. Just carry on with the dance and all. If you see anything suspicious or suspicious movement of the spectators, notify everyone through this telepathic channel immediately.’
Everyone went to enjoy desserts before heading to the centre of the hall for the dance.
“Hyusune, would you like to dance with me?” Jellal asked as he stretched out his hand.
“Nuuu! She’s mine!” Cintare pouted and pushed Jellal away. “Hyu-chan, let’s go!”
And before she knew it, Cintare was spinning Hyusune round and round so much. “I’m getting dizzy—”
Luckily, Jellal caught her before she could spin and fall. “You okay?” He asked.
“My head hurts…” Hyusune scratched her head.
Meanwhile, Fran and Kurosuke were dancing a distance away from Jellal and Hyusune.
Kurosuke was smiling at Fran.
“What are you smiling for?”
“Nothing. I’m just happy all of this is over.”
“Not so fast…I just get the feeling something bad is going to happen…”
Rima noticed Reina’s face geting tense. Something was amiss.
“Umm…Rima…could you accompany me to the washroom?” Reina asked, as beads of perspiration glistened on her forehead.
“Uh sure.” Rima replied, as she held on to Reina’s hand to calm her down.
When they got to the restroom, Reina and Rima sat down on the bench.
“I had…a horrible vision.” Reina looked up at Rima.
“What was it about?”
“A very…very large explosion…in the prom hall…and I see everyone lying on the ground with fire surrounding them…”
Rima’s eyes widened in shock.
“A man in a cloak and a black ops mask…is standing on the second floor balcony overlooking it all…a grin across this face in the midst of chaos…s-so many dead…” Reina broke down and started crying.
Rima held Reina’s hands tightly.
“Reina, don’t panic. We’ll figure this out together, okay? Breath in and out. Calm down…” Rima assured Reina that they would be able to survive this and get everyone to safety. Reina could predict the future, and what she had seen definitely needed to be conveyed to the rest.
“Guys, this is Rima Fujisaki here. ” Rima said using telepathy.
Instantaneously, everyone in the prom hall were on guard.
“Stay calm and don’t act flurried,”Rima began, “a bomb has been set on the hall. Or at least that’s what I think. Someone is planning to kill us all. In minutes this entire place will be nothing but smoldering ashes in a raging inferno. ”
Everyone was alarmed. “Rima, where is the safest spot?” Fran asked. “We need to evacuate immediately. Everyone’s lives are at risk!”
“I-I’m not too sure myself—ack!” Just then, one of the black ops students who were spectating appeared in the toilet and was strangling Rima!
“L-let…me…go…” Rima struggled to breathe.
“Rima! Are you okay? RIMA! RIMA!!” Hyusune raised her voice through telepathy, sensing Rima was in danger.
Reina was about to run off and tell the others, but another black ops male student caught her. “Not so fast, young miss.”
“Irie…TAKANASHI? W-why are you in cahoots with them?” Reina was shocked beyond words.
Rima and Reina had been caught. However, the black ops students who caught them were of the opposite faction. The two legions in the black ops were the Legion of Elfa (LoE) and the Legion of Shvir (LoS). In most of the schools, the students of the black ops only belonged to the LoE. The LoS were associated with traffickers that belonged to the outside world, because they were highly paid to catch mages and sell them after draining them of their powers fully. But why were there LoS mages in the compound? And why did they want everyone dead?
The beginning of a reign of chaos had made its arrival…
